3 Tips for checking that your artwork is right for your project

In Printing tips | on Tuesday, August 19, 2014

At Arti Promotions we have printed all kinds of designs and artwork onto clothing over the years, no job is too big or too small for us!

In order to get the best results it’s important to ensure that the artwork or photograph that you send to us is suitable for printing.  We will always advise you if we think your artwork needs adjusting or changing in order to get the perfect print.

Here is out guide to ensuring that your artwork will look great when printed onto clothing.

 Make sure images are aligned

Are the images in your artwork aligned correctly?  Make sure that nothing is sloping off in the wrong direction, it may not be that obvious on your artwork but once you’ve transferred it onto 100 t-shirts you’ll definitely notice!  If you’re using an image editing software like Photoshop to produce your artwork you should be able to switch on a grid or guidelines to make sure that the images in your artwork are all sitting level.

Check spelling!

This is the most embarrassing mistake you could make so make sure that you triple check that any writing on your artwork is spelt correctly and that you haven’t slipped and made a typo. This may sound obvious, but occasionally it happens!

Look out for pixilation

Just because your little logo looks fine on your PC, doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s going to look good when it’s been made ten times bigger and printed on the front of a sweater.  Often small images will appear pixelated and grainy when blown up big so make sure that your artwork is of an appropriate size and resolution for the project that you’re working on.

If you’re still not 100% sure if your artwork is right for our project then just send it on over to us and we’ll check it for you before we print it.
